As midwesterners well know, the infamous Polar Vortex has hit again! This arctic blast has defined the month of January by setting record lows, closing schools and giving us thick-skinned Chicagoans a deep freeze. This evening I braved the cold at Tower Road Beach in Winnetka, the Chicago suburb where I grew up, to snap a couple of iPhone photos before my phone froze and turned itself off about 10 minutes in.
When I climbed out over the ice everything looked pink but by the time I’d returned to the pier it had turned to blue. That’s the thing about sunsets, no two minutes are the same.
These were all taken with my iPhone 5 and helped along a bit in Lightroom. The pink ones are unaltered – it was that bright!
Incredible photos Jenn!
