One of the highlights of my whirlwind tour of Colombia last year was a visit to a coffee plantation in Salento. My fellow visitors and I were educated on the types of beans, the difference between Arabica and Robust and what makes Colombian coffee unique. But perhaps the best part of the visit was the coffee itself. My freshly ground and traditionally brewed cup of 100% Arabica coffee was truly unlike anything I had ever tasted. It didn’t taste like any coffee I’ve had before or since – the flavor was smoother, richer and bolder than what I am used to. It was beautiful.
